With its three body shapes, the 207 moved into the number one total sales position in the European small car market in 2007 and remained there in 2008. With the new 207, Peugeot once again highlights its small car expertise. By the end of the first half of 2009 Peugeot will have completely modernized all its vehicles in the segment. 207 highlight: The HDi FAP 99g The 207 HDi FAP 99g includes a specially tuned 1.6L turbo-diesel engine with an output of 90 HP and 158 Lb.-Ft of torque. Engine optimizations include a highly refined engine management software package and the addition of an EGR heat exchanger. A 5-speed manual transmission with a taller final drive and an instrument cluster located up-shift indicator rounds out the drivetrain enhancements. The exterior is improved with aerodynamics enhancements decreasing the 207 HDi FAP 99gs Cd down to 0.274. Frontal area has been reduced by 13% thanks to a lowered ride height, a special flexible front lower bumper trim with deeper wraparound side extensions; highly efficient air intakes; the addition of an under-tray under the floor on either side of the exhaust system and in the fuel tank area; special aerodynamic wheel trims and Michelin 15 tires with very low rolling resistance.
